Man adopts stray senior cat one snowy winter, years of ups and downs has him reminiscing about their time together before he says goodbye

It's never easy to see your cat grow old, but it's different when you never see them young and youthful either. 

It takes a certain type of person to want to adopt a senior pet. There's mostly wear and tear, and you don't have their best years. But for some, they'd rather have those years then nothing at all. In this story, this guy met Momo back in January 2012. He was being fed daily as a stray cat at an apartment complex in Metro Detroit by a nice stranger. It was a harsh winter, with snow and winds, and the person feeding Momo wanted to give him a proper home. He started posting on Facebook groups urgently seeking a home for him because he was moving to Georgia in a week. So this guy sees the posts and offers to take him and get him fixed, and at least foster him until he has a real home. It turns out that Momo was already fixed, and had spent most of his life living outside. He was able to catch Momo and take him in as his own. He originally thought Momo had a cat dad, but it wasn't true. 

He did the right thing and took Momo home in a large crate in the basement to keep him away from the other cats. He would go there and pet him, and it ended up being Momo's furrever home. Since Momo was already a senior cat, he really thought he was doing to lose him one summer when he started showing signs that he was quickly aging. But then suddenly, he pulled through and was the same Momo as he was before. In the last three months though, Momo has slowed down quite a bit and his owner is now reliving their time together. He knows that he made a risk when he took in a senior cat, but he also is so grateful for the time they've gotten together. It's not every day you meet a sweet cat who you can call your own. This story is one of bravery and wholesomeness, enjoy it like the owner enjoyed Momo.
